ITR Iron Horse Park
Iron Horse Park (IHP) is a great resource to the Fort Carson Community. Due to the abundance of space, multiple playgrounds and various sports facilities, Iron Horse Park often hoists community and special events.
IHP is divided into 3 areas that posses play ground equipment, pavilions, and barbeque areas. Each area offers different resources including access to Sand Volley Ball and Horseshoes. Equipment needed for these activities can be rented from the Equipment Checkout Center.
All three areas are available for use through our reservations system at Information, Tickets and Registration. For a list of approved facility uses and permits please click on IHP Rules, Regulation and Permits.
To complete the reservation process the groups POC read, sign and return the IRON HORSE PARK & OUTDOOR RECREATION FACILITY USE PERMIT. Once the Information Tickets & Registration management has confirmed park availability, received the IHP Recreation Facility Use Permit form and entered the reservation in the computer system, the reservation is complete.
Other resources that are available at IHP are baseball fields, basketball courts, an outdoor inline skate ring and more. Iron Horse Park offers paved walking/running trails that traverse open fields and provide a place to exercise, removed from the road. These additional resources are not reserved and are open to the public during park operating hours.

Access and Entrances To Iron Horse Park:
The main entrance to the park is of Sheridan Avenue. This
entrance provides access to areas 1 and 2 as well as the baseball fields
and basketball courts.
The Second Entrance is located off of Wetzel Avenue. The turn off is a dirt
road just past the Special Events Center when you are traveling south. This
entrance provides access to Areas 3 and 2.
